In 1999 - at 38 years of age, and long before being diagnosed with bipolar & anxiety disorders, I felt a strong compulsion to express my feelings artistically, even though I had no visual arts experience or training and certainly no visual arts talent. But I went ahead and started teaching myself how to paint anyway and the legendary results are featured here in my Gallery. And what my doodles lack in technique, I hope they make up for in personality." "I've noticed that I mainly paint when I'm not feeling well, but in a way, that's good because by painting when I feel unwell, something positive comes out of something very negative. "THE PAIN PASSES, BUT THE BEAUTY REMAINS." - - - Auguste Renoir MEDIA: Most of my doodles are miniatures, so I generally uses tiny scraps of Kilimanjaro 300 pound Watercolor paper, Robert Simmons White Sable brushes and Winsor & Newton Artist Watercolor halfpans. I load my palette only with bright, clear, cheerful colors. (Well, okay I do use Lamp Black occasionally, when the painting requires it). FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO'VE BEEN KIND ENOUGH TO WRITE AND ASK: No, I don't offer my original doodles for sale. I paint for my own amusement and as therapy for my Bipolar/Anxiety disorders, and once I'm finished with a doodle I hang it on my wall to cheer me up. And it works every time! :) However I do make available a variety of t-shirts, mugs, etc. that feature my doodles on them.
