"Jam-balaya is one of my favorites. I love the fact that you use so many lively colors in your art. They go so great with the subject. They are also very free and not stiff."

About me:
I am a native Texas artist with Cajun roots and a love for the Creole culture which influences my style. I am completely self taught in the area of painting relying on my emotions and intuition when it comes to the subject matter of my work. I paint quickly--often turning out a single work in a span of a few short hours and will paint until the work is done. I use brushes, pallet knives, and my fingers to get the job done. I do not over think a piece relying on spiritual guidance to tell me when to quit. I also feel that my art is a gift and I wait for inspiration and then quickly act upon that gift. I have been painting some since I was a teenager but have only seriously begun to turn out a large body of work in the last five years. At the age of 58, I feel that I have only now embarked upon my journey into this unknown world of art. I am a college graduate and retired teacher. I am married with a grown daughter. I love my home and family and enjoy playing the piano, writing, and decorating as hobbies. My desire is for my art to evoke a memory, provoke a response, or just make one smile and think about the gift of life.
