She obtained a Master degree in Spanish Language and World Literature from Instituto Superior Pedagógico Félix Varela, Santa Clara (1984) and did several postgraduate studies on Art History, Grammar, Creative Writing and The Social and Cultural rising of Islam (Havana University, 1986-1989)
She has authored the novel Arrecifes del Sur (1998, unpublished) and her poetry was included in the Anthology Por el ojo de la aguja (Asociacion Hermanos Saiz 1988).

She has published short stories in the literary magazine www.elateje.com and is currently working on a memories book about the Cuban educational system, Short stories and a new poetry book Sólo siete poemas de amor a una ciudad desesperada, a personal homage to Walt Whitman.
