Ytaelena Lopez

Biography: Ytaelena Lopez

Although I lives in San Francisco, I am from Venezuela, where I began to do art in 1998. I have a back- ground in literature and journalism that I use for enrich my art. I am the author of two poetry books.

I like to see how far can I get using properties of the materials for to build very layered mixed media paintings as metaphor of a feeling.

I exhibited in Miami (MiArte Gallery), Los Angeles (Seyhoun Gallery), New York (Lana Santorelli Gallery), Minneapolis (Gallery13), Caracas (EspaciosMAD), and Chile (Galería Locarno in Talca, 2008).

Also, I exhibited in several venues and galleries in San Francisco Bay Area like JellyFish Gallery, Somarts, MCCLA and Artist Television Artist (ATA’s). I am part of the CityArt Gallery, as well I help in the organization of MAPP: Mission Arts and Performing Proj-ects. I am Artist In Residence at ArtSpan program 2010- 2011 (San Francisco).
