Biography: Malavi Mendoza

MALAVI MENDOZA – Artist


Malavi Mendoza was born in Argentina in 1959, Today she is Currently living

and working in Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Florida
She started her studies in ceramics and painting at the workshop of artist
Pablo Bobbio, in the city of Mar del Plata, at age 11. Graduating from the
Higher School of Visual Arts Martin A. Malharro in 1982, with a Master of Arts

she has taken part in many exhibits, presenting her work in individual and

collective exhibits. Malavi Mendoza has participating at several international

conferences in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay.

She received the Youth Talent Award by the International Rotary Club, Argentina

and has made several study trips to Western Europe and Greece.

She has completed several set design projects at the Auditorium Theatre

in Mar del Plata in Argentina. Some of Ms. Mendoza’s sculptures are on permanent exhibit

at the Stanford Gallery in San Paulo, Brazil, at San Martin Square in

Mar del Plata, Argentina, at Museo del Mar (Museum of the Sea)

in Mar del Plata, Argentina.

Art& Exhibition Mokiti Okada in Villa Mariana Brazil.

She has been a member of the selection board for numerous art contests

in Mar del Plata.

She has also held teaching Jobs in Middle and High School in Argentina.

2005 She is currently a member of Women in the Visual Arts in Delray.
Beach, Florida and Member of Mujeres Latinas-Broward.
Since 2003, she has been an Associate Member at the studio of the
sculptor William Read, in Boca Raton, where she currently resides.

Her sculptures were exhibited at the AJ. Japour Gallery in

Miami Beach in 2003, www.ajjapourgallery.com

and her work was published in The Americas’ Art Directory 2003/2004.

Received First Place in sculpture .

Her most recent exhibitions include pieces presented at: ”Past,

Present and Step Into the Future “ in WITVA, Boca Raton.

Her most Recent exhibition include pieces presented at, Hispanic Heritage Month,

Art Exhibit in the Governmental Center Lobby, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

2008- Exhibition at Liliana Gerardi Galery – Boca Raton, Florida

2007– Exhibition at  Boca Raton  Museum of Arts.

2006-“Sugar Sand Park , Community Center, Boca Raton, Florida.

2006 –James A Rutherford Community Center, in Patch Reef park, Boca Raton.
