A graduate from The Maryland Institute, College of Art in 1999, cum laude, Luis Diaz's work has been seen in comic books, magazines, trading cards, product designs, multi-media presentations, set design, short films, album covers, DVDs, television and one naval submarine by the name of USS Miami. Using his illustration background to create designs that are eye catching and in some cases jaw dropping artwork, he has honed his skills to create great works for advertising agencies, websites and publishers including IDW Publishing, Topps, Bang Productions, Miami New Times, New York City's Village Voice and many other companies. Most noted his work has been seen in Corel's Painter software, Ballistics and Spectrum Fantastic Art Annuals and created over 40 paintings for the new Garbage Pail Kids and Wacky Packages. He recently joined up with the art studio ALT Space focusing on exhibiting his art work in galleries. Diaz's influences have been horror movies, comic books, fantasy art, music and growing up in the 1980's.
