About me:
I am an American photographer currently based in Managua, Nicaragua, and I have been been lucky enough to have practiced my art in more than 33 countries around the world. All of my images in ArtistaMundo were taken in Nicaragua. I found my passion for photography when I moved to Miami, Florida as a teenager. After growing up in New Jersey, which I found very gray and dull, in fact, I was not seeing my surroundings. In Miami, it was all so different, so alive, and really opened my eyes to the world around me. I was particularly intrigued by what I saw through my lens and I was struck by the contrast in everyday life, and the juxtaposition of themes and context. It was then decided to study photography formally. My first photo published was an image of furniture for an ad in the Miami Herald. In 2004, on a visit, I fell in love with Nicaragua, its vibrant culture and wonderful people, and stayed. Since then, my photography has gone from strength to strength as I never say no to an opportunity to photojournalism. My work has been published in various publications both nationally and internationally.
