Biography: Richard Picton

Richard was born in the United Kingdom in 1963 in the small mining town of Aberdare, set in the heart of the South Wales coalfield, surrounded by mountainous scenery and the remnants of a once powerful industrial region.  This environment has given him ideas and inspiration for many of his paintings.
He moved to Berkshire in the late 1970’s and lives in West Reading.
Richard returns to Wales every so often, looking for subjects for future paintings there, and also in the Thames Valley and South Oxfordshire area.
The paintings are all oil on canvas, and the prints are done on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm paper, using Epson Pigment Ink K3.      Canvas prints are also available.
