Biography: Jack Beals

As long as I can remember, I've always been interested in artistic things.

At the age of eight I started trying my hand at it using chalk and oil pastels. A friend of my family was a professional artist using those mediums, and I was instantly fascinated with his works.

Of course my attempts fell short of his, but I was hooked on trying.

I took all the art classes I could available through my school years before graduating, and also spent a great amount of time working on artwork at home.

Sketching, clay, the pastels, anything and everything.

As a teenager I got very obsessed about music, and tried my hand at that. And over the years I've been the guitarist, and sometimes singer, in six original rock bands.

Near the beginning of 2003 I decided to go full time into artwork, and to try to make a living of it.

It makes me feel like a kid again, but then again, it reminds me of how scary it could be being a kid.

You never know when or how you might succeed or fail in a new environment or venture, but then again, in the end it all seems worthwhile.

And I believe it has been.

I plan on continuing to explore and expand into new mediums, and I find new challenges the fuel of inspiration.

    Thanks,

    Jack
