Biography: Oscar Penalber

Oscar Peñalber is a self-taught, award-winning artist who was born in Mendoza, Argentina. At age 10, his family moved to Buenos Aires, and in 1979, he came to live in Miami and made it his permanent home.

He has always being a creative person. At the age of four he started his musical career as a singer and guitar player. Later, he studied acting and photography.

His extensive travels around the world serve him as inspiration for his work, which he mainly does on canvas, but also on wood, paper, glass, and any other available medium. He has also worked with leaded glass and mosaic.
His art is featured in art galleries, commercial and corporate establishments, and local and international events. His work can be sampled at the artist’s website: www.artbyoscar.com.

"I am a fully self-taught artist and a perpetual learner and explorer. This resistance to formal training breaks down barriers or preconceived notions on how to paint and liberates me to apply my creative energy as it comes. My approach to art is intuitive, spontaneous, curious and fearless...probably not a bad recipe for life. "
