We talk more with Tatiz about her sculpture:
Q: What is the inspiration behind this series?
A: I’ve worked on various series on topics ranging from the sea, spirals and transparencies. My work is always inspired by forms found in nature.
Q: How did you begin creating sculpture?
A: I started sculpting after working 15 years as a designer in a marble factory in Colombia. I then traveled to Pietrasanta, Italy to learn more technique. When I returned, I became dedicated to working with marble, stone and alabaster.
Q: What are your favorite themes in your pieces?
A: Everything related to water, nature and the human body.
Q: Apart from your art, what else are you passionate about?
A: I’m passionate about life, about Nature and the movement which flows through her. I also love photography and the water.
Q: What advice can you provide young, up-and-coming artists?
A: Always be alert and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us with love and sincerity.
