The newest Featured Artist Paolo Vigo is a native of Peru. After attending the fine arts academy in Trujillo, Peru, he went on to study graphic design and architecture. His artwork explores the inner workings of humanity, largely based on his own experience. You can see more of his work at http://www.artistamundo.com/paolovigo.
We talk more with Paolo about his work, inspiration and other passions:
Q: When did you begin painting and where did you study?
A: When I was a child, I was offered courses in drawing and painting, without knowing that this would eventually be my life. I was trained in visual arts at the Fine Arts Academy “Macedonio de la Torre” in Trujillo, Peru.
Q: What is the inspiration behind your work and in particular the series shown on ArtistaMundo?
A: Almost always my work is based on my personal experience, my internal masks. Human fluctuation is my motive. In ArtistaMundo I've published works from two series:
- Spleen: which deals with melancholy, this project was created after an emotional down period
- The dreams of Jorge: based on a good friend of mine and his illusions.
Q: Apart from painting, what else are you passionate about?
A: Music: in its different forms. The sound of air, voice and silence. Writing is another aspiration.
Q: What advice can you give up-and-coming artists?
A: Don’t wait to get inspired, just work!
